You probably already know that SoCal Rentals is passionate about being a rental house where excellence and quality meet. But did you know we are also passionate about supporting local charities? SoCal Rentals’ employees believe in the inspiring words of British businesswoman Anita Roddick when she says, “I want to work for a company that contributes to and is part of the community. I want something not just to invest in. I want something to believe in.”

SoCal Rentals lives this out in many ways and one of those is its involvement with a local children’s charity. This children’s nonprofit, the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, has been helping children with cancer in the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas since 1994. Their mission is to provide hope, help, and healing to these children by finding better treatments and cures, promoting awareness, and emotionally and financially supporting local children who have cancer. THIS is something we believe in.

The Michael Hoefflin Foundation began in honor of a young boy named Michael Hoefflin who had brain cancer. His family, friends, and neighbors joined together to create the Foundation. Michael’s compassion has lived on through the Foundation even though he passed in 1996. His kind spirit is an inspiration to us all and is reflected in the Foundation’s work. The Michael Hoefflin Foundation has supported about 500 local families with grocery and gas assistance, support groups, information, referrals, counseling, education, financial aid, and family activities.

Each year the Michael Hoefflin Foundation has a night of dinner, dancing, and donations to raise money for this terrific children’s nonprofit. This year the 26th Annual “An Evening Under the Stars” Gala Dinner & Charity Auction was held on September 21th at the Southern California Innovation Park. SoCal Rentals has been partnering with the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for the past eight years and each year SoCal Rentals makes a donation of the audio and video gear to this event. This year we were thrilled that SoCal Rentals could also donate an autographed Joe Montana jersey for the live auction.

Hundreds of people attended the gala including SoCal Rentals’ Founder and CEO Eric Broderson and President of Rentals Timothy Hunten. The evening flowed beautifully with a dinner catered by Salt Creek Grille, music and dancing, words of hope from Micheal’s parents Chris and Sue Hoefflin, and silent and live auctions raising a great deal of money for the Michael Hoefflin Foundation. And, of course, the audio and video was on point. The Michael Hoefflin Foundation is something WE believe in.
